  1. Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Round Rock, Texas, and attended Round Rock High School.
  2. Why did you come to UT?
Because I didn’t get into Stanford or MIT ;). But actually I think UT is an amazing school for CS, and the cost/benefit ratio may make UT the best school for computer science majors from Texas.
  3. Why are you majoring in CS?
I began programming in middle school and loved it, so CS was an easy choice for me. I did not know that CS would be also theory and algorithms heavy, but I love that side of CS even more than programming.
  4. Why are you in this class?
After I graduate this semester I will be starting at a company that works on low-latency C++ systems. I know almost nothing about C++ except what I already know from C, so I’m hoping to become more proficient before I start my job.
  5. What are your expectations of this class?
I expect to gain a strong C++ foundation.
  6. How did you feel about the cold calling?
I took software engineering with Downing and generally I enjoyed the cold calling. It really keeps you on the edge of your seat, and focused on the material.
  7. What made you happy this week?
I played spikeball with some friends I haven’t seen since quarantine started.
